My Thoughts on the Palette

No matter how many influencers they collab with, tarte gets a bad rap for being “boring.” Their palettes tend more toward neutrals and that is not what gets you popular on Instagram. However! tarte is one of my favorite brands and probably my #1 favorite prestige level brand. I wish that I had a job where I could do bright, sparkly, funky makeup every day but my field is rather conservative. As a therapist, my job is to keep focus on my clients not on myself so while I tend toward bold, colorful clothing my workday makeup looks tend to be more on the neutral or natural side. tarte is one of the brands I know I can reach for to get a great everyday makeup look. While that’s not flashy, it’s classic and you can’t go wrong with a classic.

I purchased the Tarlette vault from tarte during a holiday sale because the price was essentially like getting one palette for free. I ended up deciding to keep the Tartlette In Bloom and Tartlette Toasted palettes and sold the original Tartlette because even though I like tarte’s mattes I found it to be a little dark for my fair skin. Both In Bloom and Toasted are favorites of mine and I highly recommend both! In Bloom, the palette I used for today’s look has a good mix of highly pigmented shimmery shades, mattes, and both dark and light colors. You never run into needing to grab another palette for a brow bone or inner corner highlight with tarte! That is a pet peeve I have about some brands, I like a palette I can create a total eye look out of and this palette is perfect for that. It is another that you could easily update your daytime look to a night look for going out straight after work. I especially love the shades “firecracker” and “funny girl.”

tarte Tartlette In Bloom Palette review

Where to Buy

The tarte Tartlette In Bloom palette is $39 and available at Ulta, Sephora, and tarte’s website. As always these are not affiliate links but if you’d like to support me you can use my Rakuten (ebates) link to earn % back on your purchases and I will get $10 when you make your first purchase.

If you are reading this when it is first published, it is also on sale at Macy’s right now! Use code FORYOU to get 15% off.

I give the tarte Tarlette In Bloom palette a score of 8 out of 10. I do think their mattes are hit or miss otherwise the score would be higher. Some of their mattes have some fallout and are not as pigmented as I would like but overall it is a great palette.

Lucy’s Look

For her look, Lucy used the Colourpop Brown Sugar palette. It retailed for $12 and was a limited edition collab with Karrueche Tran. While it is no longer available their “Nude Mood” palette is similar and retails for $14. Seeing Lucy’s look makes me regret not picking this one up! Be sure to follow Lucy on Instagram to keep up with the looks she is doing. She is going through her massive eyeshadow collection right now and the photos are pretty incredible.

Juvias Place saharan II blush

Product List

I also used the Juvia’s Place Saharan II Blush palette for this look. I highly recommend it. You have to use it very sparingly if you have fair skin but the colors are gorgeous. It retails for $18 and you can find it on Juvia’s Place website or at Ulta.

Other products in this look:

  • Osmotics Real Skin Flawless Facial Tint SPF 45 shade Light
  • Osmotics Concealer shade Light
  • Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Gel shade Caramel
  • Smashbox Superfan Mascara
  • Colourpop Ultra Blotted Lip shade Doozy*

I really hate Colourpop Ultra Blotted lip. I am not a fan of a blotted lip look! I need to throw this away because I always reach for it and never look to see it’s the blotted lip. The shade is beautiful but I prefer a satin or matte lippie from Colourpop.
